The Nations Neighborhood Guide: History, Growth & Community

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

The Nations is a growing neighborhood in West Nashville, in Davidson County. It sits between Briley Parkway, Interstate 40, and 63rd Avenue North. Once considered part of Sylvan Park, The Nations has developed its own identity and seen rapid growth in recent years. As a result, locals are excited about the changes and the strong sense of community that comes with it.

The name “The Nations” has a debated history. In fact, many believe it comes from the area’s past as a gathering place for Native American tribal nations.

Today, The Nations is often called “the next 12 South.” Old industrial buildings are being transformed into trendy shops, restaurants, and bars. Meanwhile, the neighborhood continues to attract new residents who enjoy its mix of history and modern energy.
